SPINAL FLOW® TECHNIQUE
Spinal Flow® is a healing technique that helps relieving pain, symptoms and dis-ease by using the innate ability of the body and the nervous system-brain connection to release spinal blockages and promote wellbeing.
Founded by Dr Carli Axford, this healing modality is very gentle, yet extremely powerful in guiding the body to naturally release any stored stress, allowing it to move from a sympathetic (fight/flight/freeze) state into parasympathetic (heal, rest and digest) state.
Spinal Flow® Technique effectively enable the body to connect to the ease that exists within, locate blockages that cause symptoms like pain or illness, and activate healing. This is facilitated by a Certified Spinal Flow® Technique practitioner through 33 access points on the spine, which enable the nervous system to connect to the spinal blockage and release it.
How does it work
The nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) controls and coordinates everything in your body. When your nerve energy flows abundantly without obstruction, your body and mind are self-communicating, self-healing and self-regulating.
When the body doesn’t have the tools to fully process and release the emotional, physical or chemical stress it experiences, this stress can create interference (blockages) in the communication between the brain and the nervous system. This reduces the energy flow and consequently your level of health and vitality. As every organ, muscle, tissue and cell in your body is supplied by the nervous system, blockages overtime can show up as pain, symptoms or dis-eases.
The body’s natural stress response
According to the medical dictionary, “Stress is the body’s normal response to anything that disturbs its natural physical, emotional, or mental balance.”
Our body is naturally designed to deal with short bursts of stress, but is not designed to sustain this condition of heightened tension of fight:flight:freeze for a long time.
In our modern life work, relationships, money problems, traffic, bad news on television, opinions on social media, exposure to strong electromagnetic fields, fear of alienation, peer pressures (just to name a few..) are continue sources of stress.
Increased stress levels and the stress response is triggered hundreds of times throughout the day and night, compounded by the lifetime of stress that has built up and is still stuck in the nervous system. While in fight:flight the stress is stored in our body, and the body often remains in fight:flight until the stress is no longer there. But for many people the stress never goes away, which means that the body never has the time and space to heal and re-balance.
The power of Spinal Flow
Spinal Flow Technique moves the body from a stress zone into a healing zone – or from the sympathetic response into a parasympathetic response –and frees up your life force to flow and enable healing to happen.
All living beings possess a natural healing intelligence (Body Innate Intelligence) that has the ability to maintain and sustain life. This intelligence is what moves us into a state of ease and wellbeing. It is contained within the nervous system and travels along the spine, feeding every cell in our body. If our nervous system becomes blocked, overloaded or stressed, then this natural flow is disrupted, creating pain, dis-ease or illness. When we reinstate this flow, we create the optimal condition for the body to heal and re-balance.
Spinal Flow healing
There are 33 access points of the spine, that enable the body to connect to the wellbeing within. These access points allow to send a message through the spinal cord to the brain to unleash healing. This is done by making a gentle contact with these access points that are located where the dura mater is close to the skin – around the sacrum and cranium –
